The symptoms are numerous and women have different experiences. The most common perimenopause symptoms are heavy bleeding and irregular, shortened periods (like really heavy and really short).  The most common menopause symptoms are hot flashes and night sweats (basically hot flashes while you’re sleeping) and insomnia. The most common emotional issues are high anxiety, depressive mood and anger/irritability. Ultimately, the important factor is if it’s bad enough that it bothers you (pain/discomfort, disruption to daily life), it’s time to do something about it.

There are, of course, variations in HRT as well as a plethora of natural remedies to try. HRT can be taken orally (taking pills), locally ( applied vaginally) or topically (applied on the skin). Natural remedies are most plants, plant-derivatives and herbs. These are available in pill/capsule, concentrated as a tincture or topically as an essential oil.
